The birds of Mongolia
Silas grew up on the Faroe Islands which are situated between Iceland and Scotland. He started watching birds from a very young age. After studying in Denmark and Norway he moved back to the Faroes where he’s been bird watching, guiding tours, working with conservation and sitting on the board of the Faroese Ornithological Society.
He has lived abroad in both Turkey and currently in Mongolia where he is employed by an NGO helping children with disabilities supported by the Norwegian Government. Silas also gets to do birding and exploratory trips around the country as part of different conservation projects run by other NGO’s in the country.
Silas is 36 years old, married with three kids. He is a dedicated birder, bird photographer and blogger.
